Community Resources and Events

The Zolfaghari Law Firm was established to advocate for the community. We don’t just say it like other firms; we mean it. Advocating does not always mean filing lawsuits, as sometimes our issues can be resolved outside the courtroom. Below are several links to city programs and departments to further help you with problems with your rental property living conditions or discrimination at your workplace. Also, information to help with matters such as domestic violence and immigration. We invite you to contact our office with any questions you may have about these programs and departments.

Los Angeles Housing Department

The Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD) investigates violations of the City’s Housing Code, including Rent Stabilization Ordinance. If you feel your rental property is unsafe or has unhealthy conditions, you can file a claim with LAHD to investigate your housing issues and habitability concerns.

Orange County Health Care Agency

The Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA) investigates violations of California Health and Safety Code of the of unhealthy living conditions in rental properties, and hotels, motels, detention facilities, and day camps. If you feel your rental property is unsafe or has unhealthy conditions, you can file a claim with OCHCA to investigate your housing issues and habitability concerns.

California Department of Fair Employment and Housing

The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) is an agency of California state government protects Californian residents from employment, housing and public accommodation discrimination, and hate violence. If you feel you were the victim of discrimination, you can file a claim with DFEH to investigate your complaint.

Community Legal Aid SoCal

The Community Legal Aid SoCal provides legal aid for low-income residents in the Los Angeles and Orange County Communities. They offer self-help services, community education, legal counseling and representation in many areas of law including family, housing, health, immigration, economic opportunity, domestic violence, and elder abuse.
